Six sections.
One adventure.
Young people move up through the sections as they grow — from Squirrels at four to Network at twenty-five. Each has its own programme, uniform and traditions, but the idea never changes: learning by doing, outdoors, with friends.
- Squirrels 4–6 years Games, songs and getting stuck in, for 4 to 6 year-olds.
- Beavers 6–8 years Making friends and trying new things, for 6 to 8 year-olds.
- Cubs 8–10½ years Hikes, camps and bigger challenges, for 8 to 10½ year-olds.
- Scouts 10½–14 years Real adventure and the chance to lead it, for 10½ to 14 year-olds.
- Explorers 14–18 years Your programme, your way — plus the chance to help lead, for 14 to 18 year-olds.
- Network 18–25 years Adventure and volunteering for 18 to 25 year-olds.
